I cheated on Skyrim with Skyloft

The Skyward Sword was released yesterday and as hard as it was, I pulled myself away from Skyrim and my 360 to spend some time with Link and my Wii. I purchased the bundle that came with the game, a 25th anniversary soundtrack and a gold Wiimote.

My Wii hadn't been turned on in about a year. I had to go through and change all of the wireless connection information which was surprisingly difficult. I attempted to do it the evening before but the Wii just refused not play nice. It was probably punishing me for neglecting it for so long. I'm sorry Wii. But you can blame Nintendo for that. And probably Microsoft for making me happier.

Anyway, I popped in the Skyward Sword disc and was prompted to do a system update. My Wii had been previously altered so that I could play roms on it. Nintendo did not approve. After the update I got ready for some sword swinging fun.

But wait! Before I could play, I had to sit through a very, very annoying tutorial on the Wii Motion +. This is where I will mention that I had not planned on using the gold wiimote. I was planning on leaving it wrapped and packed but nooooo. Apparently the wiimotes I already had (the ones that came with the system when it was first released) were not sufficient. So I was forced to play with the gold.

Finally after changing controllers and being told how to attach the nunchuck and how to secure straps, my game starts. The intro was fantastic. The images looked very much like those inkblot test. It can be seen here:

Beautiful.

Without giving too much away, the game opens with Zelda and her Loft bird. She sends it to wake up Link who is participating in a knight academy ceremony. Between Link waking up and the ceremony, Links bird goes missing and you have find it.I didn't get very far in the game but I did get passed the ceremony which required me taking control of Links Loft bird for a bit of a race. Not having handled a wiimote in sometime, this took a bit of getting used to. After the ceremony is really when the adventure begins. The event that will lead Link to begin fulfilling his destiny takes place. A new character is introduced. The sword is revealed and Link is provided with his uniform! And thus begins the adventure!

This also happens to be where I had to stop playing due to having somethings to take care of. Now I just have to wait until 5 p.m. so that I can go home and continue my love affair.

P.S. I still hate the name Wii

Skyrim: Collector's Edition

My collectors edition of Skyrim arrived today.

Someone (as in me) is very happy. I will post more pictures of it's contents later. I now have a regular copy of the game to pawn off on someone.

Skyrim, Skyrim, Skyrim!

It's has taken over my life. When I went out today and walked passed some slabs of stone my first thought was "I'm sure there is a way to use this stone to enhance my warhammer."

So far it's so fantastic.

I purchased the regular edition but decided to go ahead and get the collectors edition. I found it online and should have it on Tuesday.

I better have it on Tuesday.

I should have just went for it when pre ordering first became available but I tried to convince myself that I didn't need to pay $150 for a game. I was fooling myself. After Tuesday I have to try to sell off my regular copy so that I don't wind up having spent over $200 on a game. I need to find some self control somewhere. I'm sure I could have used that money to buy a new winter coat and boots or something.

Is it worth it? Hell yeah!

Link

I have decided I will get a second Legend of Zelda themed tattoo. I have the shield but due to it's location it's not likely that any pictures will ever be posted. I want something that I can show off on a regular basis. I'm thinking Twilight Princess art style. It will make for my 5th game reference tattoo. I shall go and ponder the possibilities.

Cosplay Preview

Since I don't have anything on my website yet, I though I would post a little preview of some costume replicas I have made and will shortly make available for commission. Most of the pictures were taken while actually out and about somewhere. Once the site is up and running, detailed pictures will be added.

Enjoy.

I was using Spotify (which I am loving) today and came upon something titled "Gothic Acoustic Tribute to Tool" from back in 2006.

Stay away.

I was pretty excited at first. I love Tool, I love most things Gothic and I love the sound of a well performed acoustic music.

The music part was actually pretty good. The guitars sounded nice, some other string instruments poked their heads in. The terrible part is the singing. I don't know who it is because, frankly, I couldn't be bothered to Google any information. I'm no music expert and I am known to have questionable taste sometimes but this is just plain bad. The vocals render any talent of the musicians obsolete. I couldn't continue listening to any of the songs once the vocals kicked in. I hit play at random parts of songs and it just got worse and worse.

So disappointing.

Website

My website is still under construction.

As of right now, there are links leading to pages with just titles. I have some photoshoots coming up to display my various cosplay adventures. Once that is up, I will begin taking commissions as well.

There will also be a gallery/store for my own clothing line. The line will focus more on custom costume and fetish type pieces with some "normal" things thrown in here and there.

I still expect to go insane from teh process. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has begun.

Switching from Tumblr

I had used Blogger before. Then I stopped Blogging. I started up again at Tumblr and have realized I don't like them so I am back here.
